Dr. phil. Ruth Häusler - Aviation Psychologist
Consultant


Ruth studied Psychology and Business Management at the Universities of Berne and Basel in Switzerland. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Berne, Switzerland. Her doctoral thesis is on performance enhancing strategies under high task load („Cockpit Crews auf Erfolgskurs. Eine videobasierte Analyse adaptiver Aufgabenstrategien in beanspruchenden Situationen“).

Ruth is an expert on Crew Resource Management and Human Factors. She is a lecturer for Human Factors at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and chairs the CRM/HF Advisory Group for the Federal Office of Civil Aviation in Switzerland. She is a member of the JAA Human Factors Steering Group and a board member of the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP).
Ruth has teaching and research experience on the following topics:
• Team co-ordination and team performance
• Human Factors and safety science
• Training, human performance and expertise
• Performance appraisal and development of performance measurement systems
• Task and job analysis, work design

As a consultant for AVIGATE, Ruth's focus is on the human factor in cockpit design solutions and flight training systems.
